Character Information

General
Canon Source: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Canon Format: Television Series → Comic Book
Character's Name: Willow Rosenberg
Character's Age: 21 – 23, exact age never given.
Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played.

What form will your character's NV take? Willows will be a silver styled handheld computer. In the first two series she was the computer competent one, so giving her something like a palm-pilot or a more up to date reference, a graphics tablet would suit her well.

Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Willow has many abilities that all come under the umbrella of magic.

A brief introduction to magic

In Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BtVS) magic is a force which can manipulate the physical world in many different ways. Magic can be manipulated by most humans, but there are varying degrees of natural talent. For example, you have Amy Madison, who was a fairly talented witch who could competently cast many different spells, but she says to Willow “People work their lives to become half as talented as you.”

Magic is something that can be channelled via spells, which often call upon latin words, rituals, runes, candles and chants. Spells often call upon the higher power of different beings, for example the Goddess Hecate can be called upon to turn someone into a rat, or to genderbend someone.

If someone is particularly gifted with magic, they can simply will things to happen and they do. Such as telekinesis, making fire appear as well as concentrated energy blasts, forcefields and suchlike feats which would be humanly impossible.

Willow's Magic

Because of the events of the series, Willow was shown to be an incredibly naturally talented witch, whose grasp of magic was unmatched by anyone on the series. Due to the events of the series, her magic became remarkably stronger when she delved into the black arts to avenge the death of her girlfriend Tara, and once again when she cast the spell to make all potential slayers real slayers. Willow is now considered a goddess in terms of power she possesses.
Examples of Willows power include:
Telepathy
Telekinesis
Flight
Forcefields
Energy blasts
Teleportation
To regenerate (even when partially lobotomised o.x)

Weapons:
Witch supplies such as Sand, Candles, Spellbook and herbs.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History:Wiki
Point in Canon:
Willow's canon point will be in Season 8 Issue 16. She will be pulled from the conversation in which they are eating chinese take out before she reveals anything about Saga Vasuki and the strange message left by Kumiko when they were fighting in the streets of Tokyo. She'll have total knowledge of the canon up to that point and will definitely be avoiding talking about the Saga Vasuki episode.

Character Personality:
Willow is a well rounded individual with a strong sense of self after the many... challenging? Yes, Challenging events of her life. Willow started out the show as being a very timid shy girl who had trouble speaking to boys. Though her confidence does grow as she gets older, there is an underlying trait of self-doubt which crops it's head from time to time, for example: When she's told the entire plan to stop the world from being taken over by the first all comes down to her, she begins to doubt herself a little bit.

As time goes on, and Willow grows older her confidence begins to give her a backbone she never knew she had. Midway through season 2, she has the courage to stand up to school bully Cordelia Chase, and even start her famous snark, all be it when the person is not around. By Season 3, Willow is confident in her convictions, and shows a great show in strength when, even though the psycho-rogue slayer is holding a knife to her, she mouths off, telling Faith she refuses to be scared of someone who threw her life away.

Willow is also a diligently hard worker. Throughout school she was given straight A's, even headhunted by some private corporations for her genius. When it became time to apply for colleges, Willow's hard work and way above average intellect was rewarded, by getting into every college she applied for. This hard work carried over into her study of witchcraft, which unfortunately landed her in a great big pile of doody, which leads us to our next point.

Willow has an addictive personality. Her diligence in her quest for knowledge has gotten her into trouble, as in her haste to quench her thirst for understanding in Magical arts, she ignored many of the more important lessons about moderation and acceptable uses for Magic. By season 6, Willow was addicted to magic, using it as a solution for the littlest problems. A fact noticed by her lover Tara.

Another of Willow's flaws is her... talent for vengence. When her first boyfriend Oz was caught cheating with the young werewolf Verucca, she angrily sought to curse Oz, until her love for him got in the way. The second act of vengence? Was after her girlfriend Tara was sucked dry of her mind. Willow ran off armed with black magic and attempted to hurt the hell goddess who had hurt her lover. And of course, the final one which Willow is famous for was when Tara was shot, and Willow nearly succeeded in burning the world alive.

Willow's mannerisms could be described as quirky as she, like the rest of the scooby gang use jokes to get through even the most dire of moments. Often choosing to make a pun or a joke in times of apocalypse. Her attention to detail is also noted as quirky, as she would during gaps in her classes, copy her notes from lectures in a 'series of different coloured pens.' She also has a tendency to flail her arms around when she either: A) cannot think of a word or B) is really excited.

Willow can also be selfish. Her own desires can often get in the way of how she treats others. Though this selfishness is never completely blatant and she often covers it up, she has been known to create awkward situations to protect her own feelings and fears. For example, she hides Kennedy away from Buffy during season 8, to the anger of Kennedy until she explains that she can't bare to have Kennedy caught up like Tara was.

Conditional: Personality development in previous game:
Character Plans:
This is up for debate of course, but She will be sticking very closely with Buffy. She'll attempt to help with whatever Buffy is doing as long as you know, Buffy isn't being crazy! I intend to make her an active character who tries to get involved with everyone!

Hello?

[The screen focuses on a fiery haired woman who is currently looking as if she just ran a marathon. Though her eyes are wide and alert.]

M-My name is Willow Rosenberg. And uhh--

[You here a crash in the distance.]

I need to know where I am. Because It looks like I might have somehow landed myself in someone elses dimension. Can anyone tell me what--

[The crashing gets closer--]

Back off.

[The woman opens her clenched fist at whatever was following her, there is a sound of something squishing quite violently.]

Uh... back to the plea for help thing. Uhhh... Help?

Third Person Sample

Well. This was quite the predicament. Willow walked cautiously down the street, everyone of her instincts from Sunnydale telling her that this was a bad idea. But, she had to know where she was and whether this was a time-travel, or inter-dimensional deal.

Crash.

She span quickly, the fiery tendrils of her hair whipping towards the sound of the crash. She called out, hoping that this wasn't what it usually was. “Hello?” Something- no, someone staggered out into the relative light. She squinted, whatever it was it looked hurt. She took a step towards it, before the smell hit her. Rot.

She turned back, her thoughts flying over the vast sum of magical knowledge she had, the adrenaline flying through her body. She heard another moan, this one was much closer. Oh... God... She saw one of them. The dripping, human shaped sack of puréed flesh. A second passed as it advanced. Snapping out of the horror, she pressed her thumb to her middle finger, and gestured with a sharp flick of her wrist. The oncoming humanoid creature exploded, the blast of the magical energy sent from the witch quickly ripping through the decaying flesh.

As the chorus of the Mutated rose, a number of solutions jumped into her mind but the most instinctual response she had? She turned on her heel and sprinted the other way.
